Cuba Trip.Scanned 11/21/2003.Erik Kellar/Staff..SENTINEL OF CHANGE.At the mouth of Havana’s harbor, the 16th century Morro Castle never really fulfilled its role as protector of the city. Its location was deemed useless against the English, who took control of Havana in 1762 without ever coming into firing range. Today, the fortress is a silent witness as freighter after freighter passes into the harbor to unload cargo from countries all over the world. Erik Kellar/Naples Daily News
